F.A.Q.
Your Questions about Low Cost Website Design from AIP
We've put together answers to some of the questions we get asked most often about our low cost website design.
Q: I have already registered my domain name, is that a problem?
A: Not at all. We can still set up your web site. The domain always remains your property whoever actually registers it. It's simply a matter of changing the nameservers that the domain is using, a very easy process.
Q: I have already arranged hosting, is that a problem?
A: In order to be sure of being able to offer you the benefit of all the services we provide, we prefer to host the site for you. If you have arranged hosting already though, that should not be a problem provided that hosting offers facilities that support what you require. We will need to know the access details to log in and set up the site.
Q: Do I have to do all updates myself?
A: Not necessarily. WordPress is there to make things easier for our customers who wish to look after the content of their site themselves.
However we appreciate that some business owners are very busy and simply don't have the time to do it themselves all the time, if at all. If you would like us to take care of all updates and changes, that is no problem and part of the service that we provide..
Q: What if I want more pages?
A: No problem. Many sites get bigger over time.
Q: How long does it take to set a site up?
A: This very much depends on the site. A small site that is mainly text and template based will take only a few days. If more pages are needed or more work is needed on the design, then it takes longer. We normally say 7 – 10 days minimum to get everything right.
Q. I have heard the wordPress can be insecure – is that true?
A. It can be – but it depends on how it is installed and set up. We install it manually rather than using the automated installation that comes with the hosting. This instantly makes things more secure and protected against hackers. We also install a number of additional security plugins to further protect your site. Any website is potentially vulnerable to hackers, however it is built, but we make sure we install WordPress in as secure a way as possible.
